On August 29, the National Audubon Society – supported by the Southern Environmental Law Center – reached an agreement with Santee Cooper that dramatically reduces ecological impact while still allowing the utility to improve their system.

Join us on October 12th, 2024, for Beidler Forest's first ever bioblitz! By helping us catelogue all the species of plants and animals that live here you're helping us by broadening our understanding of the local habitats and how to protect it.
Guided by a Beidler Forest naturalist, these family-friendly (and kid-approved!) night programs will take you out on the boardwalk, deep into the swamp, during the new moon of each month.
We offer scheduled guided tours along our 1.75 mile boardwalk to the public on select days.
