Dear Beidler Forest Audubon Center and Audubon South Carolina supporters:

The boardwalk at Beidler is currently open under a modified schedule. Below is the current plan for its hours of operation. Plan your visit today by clicking here!

Month Days Open Hours
January Saturdays Only - Second Saturday (1/8) is free admission for all! 9AM-4PM
February Saturdays Only - Second Saturday (2/12) is free admission for all! 9AM-4PM

Our boardwalk and visitor center are currently only open on Saturdays 9am - 4pm for the months of January and Febuary. Please follow Covid-19 procedures by bringing a mask with you and maintaining social distancing.

If you are a Beidler annual pass-holder and would like to make a reservation, please reach out to staff at or call us at 843-487-9988. 
If you would like to become a Beidler annual pass-holder, and support your favorite swamp, please click here to purchase an annual pass. 
If you are unable to register for a walk on our boardwalk, consider visiting the new Grasslands-Woodland Trails near the entrance to the center! No admissions or reservations are required, although online donations are always appreciated.

Our current modified hours are listed above. Keep in mind that it takes most people an average 1.5 hours to walk the boardwalk to plan accordingly.

Note:  In the future, we will be offering special events, including night walks, which allow you to explore the forest at other times. 


Closed on select holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.  If you want to visit on another holiday, please call in advance to make sure we’re open:  843-487-9988. 

Wheelchair Access

The visitor center, restrooms and boardwalk are all wheelchair accessible. One electric and one traditional wheelchair are available to borrow.


No pets, please.  (Sorry — we love them too.)

Adults (ages 13 and up)  $10

Child (ages 6-12)

Children age 5 and under FREE

Please call in advance to schedule any group visit.  If your group is interested in a private tour guided by a naturalist, please see those fees here

School Group Admission Fees

For school groups, please see fees here.  Every school group must be escorted along the boardwalk by one of our naturalists, and these private tours need to be scheduled long in advance. Please email for more information.
